Anthology of Essays : John Bede Polding

To commemorate the sesqui-centenary of the death of Australia's pioneering bishop, John Bede Polding O.S.B in 2027,  a collection of essays will be published, discussing various aspects of his life.  

This publication will be a collaboration between the Guild of Archbishop Polding and the Australian Catholic Historical Society and is intended to be published by Connor Court Publishing towards the end of 2027.

We wish to bring the memory of Archbishop Polding once again to the attention of the Church in Australia.

We invite scholars, researchers and other interested persons to make contributions to this Anthology, discussing the life, times, work and teaching of the Archbishop.  

Previously published essays, articles etc will also be most welcome.

POLDING SESQUI - CENTENARY

In March 2027, we will be commemorating the sesqui-centenary of the death of Australia's pioneering bishop, John Bede Polding OSB.

The Archbishop died on 16th March 1877 and is now buried in the crypt of Saint Mary's Cathedral with other pioneer priests and Sydney Archbishops.

During the course of the next twelve months, we will be publishing material on this website and elsewhere to help people learn more about the holy life and teaching of Archbishop Polding.  Please follow this page or visit our Facebook page.
